Out for a walk today with my grandson Sean,, this is barhill roman Fort at twechar.. Some views,,, This is why we call it bonnie Scotland 😁 Inside the area the Fort was built, Inside the Fort area, looking down on to the forth and Clyde canal,, and the SHIRVA,, the place uncle John grew up,, canal cottages next to the stable that sheltered the canal horses,, Looking at Kilsyth again Sean,, top of barrhill Looking north east, towards Stirling Looking north west,, towards Aberfoyle,, gateway to the Highlands Bit of a closer shot of kilsyth Blueberry bushes,, still going strong since I was a boy,, the town in the distance is,, Kilsyth,, sitting just below the Campsie hills Ditch that was part of the antonine wall

Hi Ken the antonine wall was as far north as the Romans invaded. The wall was made of dirt and turf with the ditch you can see in one of the photos
