Had my grandson Sean Paul up staying last night,, first in a long time due to the covid 19 virus Rather than just let him sit in front of the TV I decided to teach him how to use my telescope,, didn't know how this would go as he is eight years old. Explained about the mount,, what it done, and how we can control it, Then it was the evostar ed80 with Canon dslr,, tethered to the laptop, byeos, Told him what to look for and ws soon operating the camera no problems,, astrophotography and video astronomy,, Was totally blown away how easy he picked it up and asking questions that an adult newbie would. Thought,, let's throw him in the deep end,, Switched to sharpcap and the esprit ed80 with the zwo asi 178 camera,, told him to look for cameras on the menu,, then find the 178 and connect it,, no problems at all. Then told him to move exposure,, yet Again no hassle for him,, This kid is mastering the dark arts π. He then was slewing the scope around using the synscan app,, slowing slew speeds,, got him framing and taking snapshots of seagulls on a factory roof,, was even tracking the gull as it walked across the roof. Was disappointed we had lots of clouds and a thunderstorm last night or I would have taken him out to try and see some stars ect,, hopefully soon. All his own workππππ

Fantastic! Kids are certainly pretty smart with tech. My 2.5 year old grand-daughter taught me how to adjust images on my Samsung S10 phone!!!

Welcome Digitalwaala, Interesting link. Pity about the bad English throughout the article.
