First review on the new scope,, got it last night from daughters, Very fast delivery from first light optics in UK. Gut wrenching £1045,, but wangled free delivery. Box,, well padded ect,, scope case,, best I've seen,, it has what looks like tennis ball dampening,, 😁.
Scope smaller than the evostar ed80, stuck it on heq5 to check out. End cap is threaded and sharp noisy threads,, silicone grease should help, Rotator,, ships wheel style,, feck,, that was tight,, thought I was going to snap lug off,, rotator dry as well,, will need some grease as well, Biggest pain in backside is finder scope,, it's very close to scope mount bolts one way and other way impending quick release lever,, this needs further thought. Next up,, typical skywatcher changing all the thread sizes,, m74x1 on focuser, so you need a m74x1 to m65x1 adapter to fit one side of field flatner, then m66x1 to m48x0.75 adapter,, to fit other side and that's another £200 to get a flat field,, Not a hope in hell am I paying that,,, Looked at the starizona reducer Paul has and that's my next saver upper, $550,, need to see who does it this side of the pond. Still,, it looks a decent scope 🔭😄

Reconfigured the heq5 to try and get some comparison on both the scopes, evostar ed80 and esprit ed80, Removed the pier extension and added the twin saddle to take the two scopes,, bit of setting up still to do but all it does is rain just now

Looking for information,, I loved the fact Paul put a focal reducer on his esprit, and got the f number down into the three's,, too much money heading out the door just now so no way could I afford the focal reducer Paul has,,, I would have went for a 24mm samyang f2. 8 lens instead. I've read a fair bit on folk saying you can't 100% get a focal reducer for the esprit,, seems a bit of reluctance to focal reduce it,, why,, I've no idea,, But today,, I used the f word,, in a different way 😂 and fitted my skywatcher 0.85 focal reducer /flatner on to my Canon 600d and I can achieve focus,, mmmm seems OK,, got it pointed at a point about 3/4 of a mile away,, seems OK, I put in the specs in first lights calculator for fov and it's a bit bigger than without the focal reducer,, Still tests to do,, Any ideas on what the f rating would be at for this
