Hows the balance issues now karl Hello Davy,
Not perfect but this would be very difficult given the setup. I need to try a few things when I get chance but this will be something that will need mastering over time I think

Im guessing the fact that my scope is a fork mount means balance isn't as big of an issue?
The only reason i say that is even without any diagonal or anything my scope is waaay out of balance and sooo bottom heavy! Adding all my stuff puts it even further away from being balanced. Im just guessing Meade have designed it that way as it would be pretty stupid to sell a scope that requires a counter weight system straight out the box without adding loads of stuff on it.

I'm not certain Chris but I think you also need to be balanced and there our counterweights designed for your scope type.

I do actually have a counter weight system that some dude off astrobuysell gave me for nothing! I just had to pay the 15 quid postage as it is really heavy.
I got it as i was planing on piggy backing a scope on top. But to be honest i dont have a scooby how it works haha

If I remember right Chris the ETX had a counter weight that attached to the OTA near the front to balance an SLR camera to the rear.

There a few types shown on Mike Weasners ETX site im sure. The ETX is actually much much better balanced than the LX90 as the front is a solid lens and when you put your eyepiece in it kinda evens it out a bit. The LX is just no where near balanced. But to be honest im not really fussed about it. My tracking seems absolutely fine up till around 50 sec exposures and ive never had much issues with my goto. Cant ask for much more with a alt/az i guess. If i do eventually go down the route of adding a scope on top then i will look into adding the counter weights

Its about time someone came up with a stand off bracket, so all the cabling is kept away from the mount. think i'll open paint and have a go
