It was forecast to be mostly cloudy last night ,but turned out to be acceptable...and I had nothing better to do ,so I had the imx 432 on the lx90 8" with the night owl.4. I would like to see how the 432 goes with Leo and Virgo galaxies, but trees cover my North East . I have to wait till after midnight for them to move westward and that is way past my bedtime. So, I am a bit short on for viewing galaxies at the moment. I viewed some the old favorite nebulas and quickly learned the 432 main job is for galaxies. Here is a very ordinary shot of ngc 2261 Hubble's Variable Nebula in Monoceros.9s x 20 stack. I was surprised how much coma and vignetting there is in this one. The imx432 usually produces a lot of vignetting with the Night owl focal reducer, but generally not that much coma. I might be better off using the Celestron 6.3 fr instead. also pretty terrible ngc 1097 in Fornax . 15s x12. It was a bit too cloudy cheers Paul

At least you are out there trying, Paul. They look ok. NGC 2261 always looks like a comet

Nah Ken ,they are crap. But you are right ,at least I am out there trying. Notice I didn't say they look 'great' They are 'OK'. You can see what they are, they aren't over-exposed, and the contrast is good. If all our pics looked 'great' we wouldn't have anything to learn, and I like to learn and improve

I am learning what combination of camera and scope works best with different DSO's. The imx 432 gives me best results on the Rasa for galaxies. The sct and night owl combination will be better with smaller sized sensors. All a work in progress. cheers Paul

Had another go at ngc 1097 with the 290 on the c6 with hyperstar and the 432 on the Rasa. If I lived at Snake Valley I would get a few shots of the Leo triplet, but they are behind trees here at home so I have to keep boring you with the Fornax galaxies ngc 1097 432 rasa 12s x 35 ngc 1097 290 c6 hyperstar 12s x 28 cheers Paul

Here is ngc 1365 again and I promise not to post any more but it has been interesting to compare the same galaxy on the different scopes 290 on c6 12s x 15 432 on rasa 10s x 18 . cheers Paul

Paul, I really like the result with the RASA 10s x 18 (the last one) Nice detail!
