My thoughts on the raspberry pi4 4gb single board computer. Had it a few weeks now,, bought from ebay,, was about £54 delivered, I bought the 3.5" screen and case for it as well,, never got it working band to be honest,, I would not bother with it,, screen is too small to be practical, I have on back order a metal case for mine. Which will be better for a portable astronomy device.
So,, not going into the astronomy side of the rpi, what I would like to say as a mini computer it's really good for the Internet,, I have the astroberry software on mine so not knowing on other systems I can't comment,, the astroberry has a browser on it,, I have mine hot-spot to my phone,, and I'm really surprised how fast it is for the Internet. I would recommend one of these for an Observatory,, just hook it up to a nice big TV with hdmi,, mini Bluetooth keyboard and you have Internet to a big screen,, Would be good for an Observatory.. Can see a lot of potential for these raspberry pi. Recommended,, and when I get mine set for astronomy,, highly recommended

I agree with you davy about the small screen. The Pi4 and the Astroberry software are very impressive. I got it to wifi to an ipad screen but the ipad screen is too small for that software. It works great with a hdmi cable on a bigger screen with a mouse and keyboard. cheers Paul
