I like the M83 Ken, and I love the fact you can get great images under 3 minutes AND dont need more than 5 stacks. Now that is live viewing. cheers Paul

Thanks Paul. I can get the images faster by turning up the Gain but I personally don't like Gain. I always try to leave it as low as possible. And I usually never stack more than 3 frames but this time I decided to stack 4 just for good measure. Call me an experimentalist I do like this IMX178 though.

Gave the IMX178 another run tonight. This time I stacked 5 frames of 3 minutes each (AAGGHHH!!! getting back to Astrophotography methods ) Anyway, here's Horsie at 5 x 3min. A slight HDR treatment in PhotoShop CS5.

Judas,, lol.. What's the difference these days Ken.. LOL! Not a lot davy. Silly me, I didn't remember until after I stacked, processed, and posted the Horsie pic that I forgot to focus the scope after I moved the focuser What you see is a pic of an out of focus Horsie and Flame nebula OOPS!
