After club members went home last night I fired up my gear and snapped off a few images. My goal was to check the Polar Alignment on my mount because the Moon was too bright to bother with snapping captures, but some looked good so I saved them They are single frames of only 10 seconds each with the RisingCam 224 in an ED80 with a 0.7x focal reducer. All with Gain set in RisingSky at 6.07 (about 10%) Brightness 100% Contrast 50% Gamma 50% Moon 74% Carina Nebula 1 x 10s Centaurus 'A' Galaxy 1 x 10s Tarantula Nebula in the LMC 1 x 10s Omega Centauri 3 x 10s (I cheated with this one, it is a stack of 3)

great shots Ken Thats what videoastronomy is all about. I dont think anyone would be too fussed about 30 secs for a shot of omega centauri. Is your ED 80 still your most used scope? I might give a refractor a run tonight cheers Paul

Thanks Carlos. No, I never post-process. All my posted images are always straight from the camera just using the capture button in the RisingSky capture software. I had a UHC filter in for a while but didn't like the results, so I reverted back to an 'IR/UV cut' and a 'Minus Violet' filter.

I will be posting images from it in another thread.
