My niece is a local artist here in San Diego who's had her painting on display at the San Diego International Airport. Her's is the first four-panel painting in this article: timesofsandiego.com/arts/2017/03/08/airport-opens-intergalactic-dreaming-public-art-exhibition/When I saw she started doing astronomy type paintings, I asked her to make a painting for me to hang in my home. She asked what I wanted along with sizing so I sent her two of my video astronomy images, the Horsehead and the Orion Nebula as options. I told her that I wasn't necessarily looking for a photo realistic image and that I wanted her artistic interpretation of the objects. She just sent me an image of what she came up with. I can't wait to see it in person. Edit: She just told me it's still being worked on so this isn't the final image.

Looks fantastic Rob! It looks really dreamy, sort of mystical, as well as portraying the Horsehead. Nice mixture of effects.

I took a couple of photos of my Paintings. I have been sketching all my life, mainly portraits, but never painted as I believed it was too hard. But I have finally decided to give it a try. I only started 3 weeks ago My first painting, an attempt at a landscape, on a broken piece of cement sheet I found in my shed I painted it with waterpaints which I thought were acrylics (oops, that'll teach me to read the labels properly) and then last week I decided to try again and painted some Koi fish using the same waterpaints, this time on an MDF board also from the shed 2 days ago I went to an Art Supplies shop and bought some proper Artists Oil paints and 2 different sizes of canvas. If I'm going to try painting I may as well use the right stuff

Wow, thanks Rob and Howie. They are just my first 2 attempts, and to me the little landscape looks terrible, but I admit that I quite like how the Koi turned out. I'm looking forward to using the Oil paints I bought. I bought an Easel today, so once I pick a subject to paint I'll be straight into it It will be a great way to spend cloudy nights.

I actually like the landscape image, especially considering what you painted it on. My favorite is the reflection in the water.

I could do with the toilet painted if you've spare paint π,, You could paint it like a galaxy with the throat being a black hole at the center and the water making the galaxy arms.

I just did another quick painting tonight. Took me a whole half an hour It is today's sunset over my Western paddock This time I used Acrylics on a Miniature canvas: You can see how small it really is compared to my hand

Well the only two choices were it was very small or that easel was made with 6x6 beams.
