uncle john dropped by the garage yesterday and gave me a cut out from the Glasgow herald news paper about this chap. born January 15th 1944 and died june 10th 2017 aged 73, was an astronomer who designed advanced telescopes that helped scientists glimpse into the far reaches of the universe. mr nelson's design using dozens of segmented mirrors rather than a single large mirror was the basis for the keck observatory's twin 10 mtr telescopes on mauna kea in Hawaii. its quite a big write up on jerry for a news paper in glasow... well worth looking up jerry's contribution to astronomy on the internet I would say.. rip sir
