15th January 2014 We have had another hellish day, again reaching temperatures into the 40's celsius! and the Thunderstorms have been rolling through all day with Lightning leaving a devastating trail of Bushfires. Here's is an animation of our state of Victoria (the State of Victoria is about the same size of the whole U.K.) The first frame is the lightning strikes in a line diagonally across the state. The second frames shows where the fires are! In area size, this would equal large fires across the whole of the U.K. from top to bottom. Attachments:

That don't look like fun Ken. Totally ruined the sky for you. Looks like your firefighters have their hands full. Any chance of the weather changing soon.?

Thats crazy Ken! One good thing about the UK...you'll freeze your nuts off all year round but wont get bush fires and monster spiders haha!
Ken will you need to help out on the fires?

No Chris, I have retired as a Firefighter as of last year. Leaving it to the younger fitter blokes. Fortunately in our town us old fellows can afford to retire because out of a population of around 300, approx 120 are highly trained & qualified volunteer firefighters. When you live in a high fire risk area it's common practice to join the fire service and get highly trained and Qualified.
