Hello All,
I have just plugged in my camera to test with Miloslick and I can not get a video signal!!!! I have tried several cables so I know it is not that. I am now concerned the camera may be broken which is not good! The only thing I can think of is the last time out the humidity was pretty bad and it may be that water has got into it, crikey I hope not. Anyway any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks Do you have a portable DVD player or something you can use to test your video grabber? I doubt there is an issue with the mallincam. Also take the mallicam inside and hook it to a TV, so you can see if it works. Let us know how you make out! Good luck, I hope its something simple!

Hi Hemmi, thank you I did bring it in and tried direct into my DRV all 4 channels and then the TV but no good. The video grabber is only used when I need the image on the computer so I know it's not that unfortunately. I will contact Rock to see what he thinks.
Thank you

damn, thats bad news Karl. I hope its something simple and not a major problem. I have no suggestions as to what could be wrong. But in the mean time, put the cam somewhere warm and dry.

Thanks Allan, I always keep it indoors after use to it should be warm and dry but perhaps 20 mins on a radiator wouldn't hurt. I'm hoping it's not too serious and keeping all crossed for now. On the upside I still have my CR6 babies!

Karl do you use connectors at some places on your cable flow? Try replacing them maybe? The male BNC cable on my W5 hand controller is very dodgy and i lost video feed all the time if it gets moved in the wrong way.
Edit: Also why do you think its water related? Does it power on ok?

Fingers crossed it rectifies itself and a bit of heat sorts it out. I presume you've tried a different coax cable. I've just tried a multi meter on the bnc connecter on the rear of the camera to see if i get a reading using the ohms setting. I just tried mine with no power to it and I get a 4 figure reading, with power to it I get a 3 figure reading.

Karl, a couple of people have had the exact same problem.
Mallincam Xtreme and Miloslick. Here's Rocks 'reset' instructions. Maybe they will help.
Have the camera connected to power then the video cable while watching a monitor, not computer.
- Press centre button for about 2 seconds until the menu appears.
- Press the upper button once which will send the cursor to the last line <SAVE>.
- Next press right key once. Word SAVE will change to <PRESET>
- Press centre key once.
This will send the camera to factory preset and should be ready for you to select all adjustment needed from scratch. Now wait about 5 seconds and you are good to go.
Always perform this method from rear buttons on the camera.
You should be able to reconnect the computer cable (RS232) back on and then start all over again.

Thanks all, I can formerly announce I have resolved the problem. Apologies to all but I made a stupid school boy error and had the camera powered up with the wrong adapter! Thanks for all the suggestions and you may now proceed with all the stick I deserve

I'm laughing now, but I may well make all these mistakes myself soon.
