Here is a picture showing the cameras I am currently using and testing, and comparing to each other. Some are mine, some are Paul's. All cameras are labelled in photo. After opening thumbnail click image to enlarge to full size

I find it hard enough to get my head around one at a time Yep and different software for many of them too But that is actually helpful because it's hard to run two cameras simultaneously for comparisons in the same software. Different softwares I can run side by side.

It'll be interesting to see how you compare the infinity to much cheaper cameras

This is an example of how the comparison works. I set both cameras simultaneously at the same exposure times and basic settings. This screen grab shows both Monitors: (Rising Tech version of the ASI224 on left, Mallincam Xtreme on the right)
Here you can see the control room we are using to make the comparisons. Tim and I were testing on this night. On another night Paul was testing comparisons with me. It's good having two of us do it. Less bias, or preference on favourite cameras.

Nice work!
Some standardised comparisons will be very interesting/useful.

Robert, I won't be doing tests that could be considered as scientific, or of any publishable quality. More of a 'general' test to give an indication if one camera totally blitzes another, Value, ease of use, etc.
So far already I am seeing great comparable results between a $120 camera and a $1500 camera. So far there's not a lot of difference for such a huge price gap.
The results could be either predictable, or amazing.

Pity because that would make it interesting. I'm sure your advice in the future will be invaluable but yes the GStar-Ex3 is the first one on my list ! But I will be checking in with you and all to see what is best with my set up. in the mean time I'll enjoy watching your testing. Dave.

This is going to be interesting to see the results, I still prefer to use my sammy with Gstar software [easier to use] than the extreme with the miloslick

It's hard to beat that 224 result for $168 US.
They have an IMX290 for under $250, too.

Well, I attempted to get the 224 (and was on the fence on getting the G3CMOS) from AliExpress but had all kinds of challenges in registering and crappy tech support (and they don't take PayPal) so I just walked away from that hot mess.
I need to get a color camera soon.
