Thats it, I've pulled the trigger on the Mallincam Jr Pro. Not being in the position to get the extreme for the foreseable future, I decided on what I consider to be the next best option for me. I will still use my DMK31 and 41 for solar as they are mono and will produce better images, but for dso's the Jr pro will knock spots off the DMK's for sensitivity. It will probably be a week before the cam gets here from the states, and then I will have to pay the horrible customs duty, but soon I will be able to view dso's to my hearts content. (weather permitting) All I need now is a video grabber and I'm all set.

Well I had been researching VA cams for a while, and although I like what I've seen from the sbc's, I know I would want an upgrade before too long. I figured that If I started off with a Sammy, it would end up back on sale and I would be buying the Pro anyway. It was only when I saw a post on the Mallincam Yahoo group form Mallincam Jack saying that he had 0ne PAL version with the Exview sensor in stock that I decided to jump on it before anyone else did. Altough its going to be expensive with the customs duty etc, I think I made the right choice. I'm not overly concerned with clouds coming with the cam, coz apparently, the JR Pro can see through them.

Go for it Chris, the justification is pure satisfaction. If you ever get bored (highly unlikely) with it you can always sell it

Congratulations Allan, I look forward to seeing your results but I know first hand you will not be disappointed!

Thanks for the Lnk Chris. I had already found it, but its here for everyone else to read now.
Having a read through again, it seems I will have to find a control cable so that I can connect to my comp for remote adjustments, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

There's quite a few good utube tutorials on the pro from Chris [astrogate] and Jack Huerkamp. watched most of them, gives a good insight on the Pro.

Still waiting on our useless postal service to drop me a card and let me know when I can collect it. If the card turns up tomorrow morning the wife will see it first. Then there will be no chance for me to sneek this one past her.

Living on the edge Allan The thing that gets me is how they spend money on clothes and such like but when you ask about it you get, "oh yeah mum bought me that" or "I've had that new top for years just never took the tag out before" We just need to get smarter at it

Allan, I bet your pacing up and down waiting for that postman or camping out at the letter box
I just get excited waiting for a few cheap bits and pieces off ebay to arrive
god knows what I would be like if I ordered one of them

Trust me, I normally plan these deliveries very meticulously to coincide with the wifes work schedule, but she has a day off tomorrow. With the postal service being so slow and messing up my planning, the card may come through the door while the wifes is at home. I may have some explaining to do, and this could cost me dearly.
As for womens shoes.... I don't understand what the big deal is with posh designer labels. They cost a packet and they still complain their feet hurt.

Ha ha, got the card today. I came back from work early to sort stuff for weekend. Wife went shopping for basics and postman turned up shortly afterwards. Tell tale evidence of my new purchase is now securely hidden. Will have to collect the package on Monday. Phew.

Great news Allan, I would of been out of that door as soon as the card came through. So Monday night we'll all be watching you if the weather is clear.
