Good results Giorgos. Is there much light pollution on Evia island? On Google Earth it looks un-inhabited.

Thank for your kind comments guys! Ken google is misleading I guess... Evia is near Athens and has about 200.000 population. As a matter of fact its only technically an island as you have to just cross a bridge to get there. I observe from a village with a population of 390 and the light domes from Athens 100 km away and Chalkis 28 km away are plainly visible across the southern horizon. After midnight hours the sky is dark enough and the Milky Way visible.

Sounds a bit like where I am Giorgo. My town's population is about 250, the Capital city of Melbourne is about 160 km East and the small city of Ballarat (pop 100,000) is about 36 km East. I see Ballarat's light dome low in my east. Milky Way always visible, except in full moon of course
