Maybe I'm old school. I prefer Deep Purple, LZ and Detroit metal like Iggy and the MC5. I know they don't sound like HM anymore but ....

I'm even older school LOL!
My favourites are Pink Floyd, Roy Orbison, Jackson Browne, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Bee-Gees, etc,
but in more modern times I like Crowded House, REM, The Pretenders, Divynals, The Verve, Cranberries, etc.

They definitely still count... back before every band had to come up with some kind of prefix to describe themselves... Doom Metal vs Symphonic Metal vs Death Metal vs Black Metal vs Nu Metal vs Power Metal vs ... it really does go on and on and on. A lot of people consider Deep Purple and Black Sabbath to be the initial Metal bands. I personally don't include Zepplin as a metal band.

Sound of Silence covered by my favourite band Disturbed. i cant link, but if you liked Nothing Else Matters by Mettalica... You will enjoy this more, being a song you know.
They have covered phil collins Land of Confusion too. They are a heavy band by normal standards but usually Nail one cover per album...in the original style so no screaming guitar solo's or singer.
