Found this place in South Australia. Quite an impressive venue ... there's a link off near the top of the website which says take a "georama" panorama tour of the place. I was planning to sell up and move out west a bit to dark skies and setup a bed and breakfast with a couple of domes or shed like Ken's building and supplement my living income during retirement. But this place kinda puts my plans to shame ... very grand. www.arkaroola.com.au/astronomical.phpand construction of the domes Howie

Yeah, it's a big place out there Howie. Arkaroola has been going for about 12-15 years and is quite extensive. It makes our humble facilities look pretty sad

Looks like a great vacation spot for camping, hiking, and observing. Unfortunately it is a bit far to haul my travel trailer. Not to mention a small obstacle called the Pacific Ocean!!

Ken, Not a motor home, mine is a trailer that I pull behind my Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The trailer is 32' long and 8' wide and it has 2 slides that increase the width by nearly 4'. You can see pictures of it and my truck on my blog <http://www.lulingskies.blogspot.com/2015/11/2015-deep-south-regional-star-gaze.html>. The post was at the Deep South Regional Star Gaze, a star party I regularly attend.
I tried to post a pic to this post but I kept getting an error that I had exceeded the file size limit.

Ahhhhh, thanks Tim. Here in Australia we call that a 'Caravan' We call this a 'Trailer':
And what you call a 'Pickup Truck' we call a 'Ute'.

LOL! We have Aussie songs with 'Ute' in them. Here it would be strange to blend in 'Pickup' in a song. Aussie would think it's about how to 'pick up' girls Here's one of our favourites and when we say 'Thongs' we mean the ones on your feet I think you call them 'Flip-flops'.

It's even more complex than that, Ken... if you're picking up teenagers in your pickup truck... well "youth" in a heavy New York/New Jersey accent sounds like "yoot". So you can imagine the confusion trying to pick up yoot in a ute!

So you can imagine the confusion trying to pick up yoot in a ute! Yeah, that would sound stoopid LOL! We have an event here in Oz for 'Ute' owners and it is HUGE!!!! It's called the 'Deni Ute Muster' (Deni = Deniliquin, the town), (Ute as in . . well . . a Ute) (Muster = to assemble, a get-together) www.deniutemuster.com.au/

Ahh, so the ute is basically an El Camino I get it now. Like the 3 guys on their website that have tattoos of "No Ragerts"

El Camino? Is that a brand? A 'Ute' is any vehicle with a tub in the back. Including things like Ford F100's and right down to the small car versions like on the Deni website. 'Ute' is short for a 'Utility' vehicle.

Yup El Camino is absolutely a 'ute' ... sedan styled car with the open (sometime with lid) rear tray area. Like the USofA there's a HUGE car culture here. Lotsa Hot Rod runs and modded to the hilt El Camino's in Oz. There's a couple of big bike and car shows right around the country. Its getting a tad cooler here so shortly there will be a rash of such shows coming up. (Bit tough standing around looking at cars in the blazing sun at 35-40 C!). Not to mention the damage the heat n sun does to all that paint n vinyl and leather! And you just about go blind with all that chrome reflecting the sun in your eyes. LOL
