Hey Guys, Ive watched a few of this guys videos and they are really good! Heres one i liked. Pretty much everything he does in this applies to us video cam users too. I have never understood anything about processing. Ive heard all the lingo...darks, flats, bias etc etc but never had a clue. Also tried DSS software before and didnt have a clue what i was doing. This dude walks you through it all. I now know a lot more about processing than i did before watching this. Was very informative After a quick play about with some of my videos ive found DSS seems to work a million times better than registax in my opinion.

Thank you Chris, just what I've been looking for. I've seen a number of Forest's vids and he does good work.
Clear skies...Bob

I use dss. I put the dark frames on average and then I try the light frames with both median and average and keep what comes out better. I save my final image as a 16 bit tiffs. I use photoshop for the rest of the processing. I would also suggest watching videos on gradient mask. Gradient mask (photoshop) along with darks frames subtraction (DSS) work great on amp glow. It's important to adjust curves a little at a time. Star masks work great for brighter stars.
For planets i use registax to stack, but for DSO's in registax doesn't seem to like field rotation.

Awesome video. I took a quick look at it but will of course be viewing it a couple more times, especially once I get a good video to work with.
