Is Brigadoon a real legend, or just the story/screenplay? I'd love to see the highlands someday...

Well, supposedly it is one of the most haunted houses in the world. Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin bought it because he was fascinated with the occult and the house was owned for a while by Aleister Crowley back in the day, right?

Had a few experiences when I was younger, there is a disused quarry in Kilsyth called auchinstary,it was cleaned up and made into a scenic spot, an island with a bridge over to it and surrounded by water,it was stocked with perch and the cliffs were used by climbers, nice place for a picnic and a bit of swimming.when I was about 15 me and a couple of mates used to climb down the cliffs and go in swimming,it was safer for us lol, guys from the village up the road a bit were always team handed and giving folk grief and a good kicking, one night the place was deserted and it was getting dark and we were swimming in the middle of the water when we stopped and looked round and on the other side at the picnic area there were about 12 folk in black robes holding torches of fire and pointed to us....we swam like Olympic swimmers and got ready and started climbing the cliffs, looking round we could see that they were coming up the side of the cliffs,,talk about adrenalin pumping,we could hear the farmers dogs that was lose to where we were going mental..once at the top we ran and jumped on to this 8ft fence half way up,we got away but,,,talk about shaking.. story dosent end there my uncle john (scopemobile) must have heard from my mum the story...we called this group " the voodoo" lol,,uncle john took me and my sister a walk from our grans house in twechar,no big deal both he and uncle bobby both took us walks into the countryside, this time we went a different route and ended up at a disused mine,we looked down from the bing it had great views to the campsite hills and the forth and clyde canal and on to the shirva where my papa was the last lock keeper for the twechar section of the canal,we went down and were looking through the buildings but one building made the hairs on my arms stick up and felt realy cold and felt you were being watched,i said to unc it felt weired ,,he told me this was where the "voodoo " or devil worshippers held there meetings, the council had cleaned satanic paintings off the walls and pentagram from the floor...now that was a feeling I never wanted to feel again...pure evil... hard to believe but true... thanks unc for scaring the bejesus out me,,,

Daaaaang, Davy... I don't know anyone who would stand their ground at the approach of a group of robed people with torches - no way. Isn't it weird how some places almost store the "bad vibes" when bad things happen. I have felt it too from time to time. I wonder what the science behind it is.

Yes Rick, stairs leading to nowhere, secret passages and odd ball rooms, from what the guide said that she had to keep building and adding to it, was about 10 years ago when I went there If you go to mansion tours it explains why she kept building www.winchestermysteryhouse.com/thehouse.cfm

I guess if I thought I had ghosts following me around all the time, I do much worse than add secret passageways to my house.
