Hi,
Here is part of my outdoor kit that I have been setting up this year, there are four systems to do different things from all sky to close-up etc, video and still digital astro camera and DSLR with lenses etc. Because of our sloping block and wooded rocky terrain, I have to do all the ground-works with my Komatzu excavator, which adds to the fun but also the time factor with so many other projects on the go. coldest August
Coldest winter in Tasmania since 1966, coldest August since 1952. Now as spring approaches I hope to make more real progress on the outdoor systems!! www.abc.net.au/news/2015-08-31/tasmania-shivers-through-coldest-winter-in-50-years/6738326?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook
This cabinet houses a laptop, TV monitor, Time Date Video Inserter etc. and has a weatherproof cover.
The early model EQ6 is getting a full rebuild with belt & cog drives and new SKF bearings, next project.
I have two Meade SN-10" scopes, tempted to see if the mount will carry both? Concreted in place once polar aligned, all made from stainless steel odds & ends. Level adjustable mounting lugs. Digging holes in rock is a slow process. Terracing and scrub clearing. Clear Skies... Shevill

Thanks for your kind comments. Almost back to normal, just one more trip into hospital for some iron infusions to boost my iron stores etc. I have pushed things a bit too hard since my surgery, but then at 77.5 years, I do not have time to sit around twiddling my thumbs. Started this outside project in Feb. with some health issue breaks it is all taking longer than expected. Coldest July in 10 years to boot, so working outdoors is not the most friendly. Weird weather we are having. Got a snow cyclone about to strike Tasmania and much of lower eastern Oz. They had snow up in Queensland last week, almost unheard of up there. IT COMETH!! #snow You've been hearing about the intense low pressure system heading our way and she's on our door step! Severe weather warnings are in place for parts of South Australia, Victoria, NSW and all of Tasmania. Damaging winds and plenty of snow are on the way. Click on the link for each state to see the severe weather warning.

I will keep posting pics of the various items/projects as they complete,
Kind Regards, Shevill

Very very impressive, Shevill, this is an awesome project!
I would love to hear more about your polar alignment routine with your DSLR. Alignment is my biggest challenge right now.

shevill - have you thought of a larger snowplough blade for your digger, and an enclosed cabin with heater [carbon-monoxide free] to keep you cosy in this incoming bad weather. john.
