I got a chance to spend quite a bit of time on several objects and managed to get some good test / comparison images on several of the objects. I feel real good about these. I think a lot of progress from my first night.
Here's the descriptions:
M57 - RING NEBULA Ring_12: The Ring Nebula at 12 seconds at 5.00 gain. Central star easily visible as well as some nebulosity detail.
Ring_30: The ring Nebula at 30 seconds at 2.00 gain. Looks very similar to the 12s/5 gain image. Maybe a tad more detail. Ring_20: The Ring Nebula at 20 seconds at 5.00 gain. More detail in north & south quadrants and center, but blown out on east and west quadrants.
Ring_07: The Ring Nebula at 7 seconds at 5.00 gain. The central star is visible as is some detail in the north and south quadrants. We tried it down to 5 seconds and the central star was just barely visible.
M13 - GREAT GLOBULAR IN HERCULES Herc_10_200: M13 the Great Globular in Heracles at 10 seconds and a 2.00 gain. Good start here.
Herc_10_252: M13 the Great Globular in Heracles at 10 seconds and a 2.52 gain. Really seemed to pop with just a tad of gain.
M27 - DUMBELL NEBULA
Dumb_15_300: Sorry about this but I forgot the settings... I think it was 15 seconds at about 3.00 gain. I think we bumped the gain to get more detail. I'm pretty sure we werent at 20 seconds.

I forgot to add... this was with my VRC8 (8" RC at F/8) on my AVX with StarSense. Mallincam SkyRaider DSm with the A part of the MFR-5 for focal reduction. Gave me about f/6.4 I think. No filters at all. Also, this was with the old version of MallincamSky software.
These were screen captures of the MallincamSky software, not an image saved from within the software. I forgot that it could do that, haha.

Hi Rick,
Getting better and better! Try the ring with no reducer, you might be surprised.

Hi Richard, that's definitely on my list!
I want to take the field of view work that I've done and pre-plan a bunch of targets that will "fill the screen" with specific setups!
