Do any of you use a Bahtinov Mask to refine your focus?
Any tips or tricks for using a mask with a video camera?
Thanks in advance!

Focus on brightest star closest to the object you wish to capture

Very useful and saves time. Focus on the closest bright star to the DSO and aim for the symmetry of the 3 rays as per a number of Youtube demonstrations. Paul

Yes Rick, every broadcast I start with a Bahtinov mask.
I use very bright stars and use 3 seconds integration.
Not sure what you want to know. How it works, why it works, what to look for in the spikes?

You answered it, I think, Ken & everyone. Exposure, APC, etc. - concerns on star bloat, etc.
Thanks!
