What is the holy grail you ask...in my opinion its the cheapest and easiest high accumulation camera that can be modified easily for astrovideo. .ive searched manufacturers and retailers looking for cameras with higher accumulation than the samsung scb2000 then along pops the phil dyer camera with double the accumulation. . A board camera with this type of spec is what were after,, so where are they..do they exist if they do are they worth the time and expense to peltier cool and cool with fans..I have to say yes and the reason being is to keep my hobby as cheap as possible, , doing astrophotography is very expensive, with some followers of this allways recommending equipment out with your budget..with quotes like "" the minimum mount you need is ) and ( I use this and recommend it ) smashing you say to yourself I can do astrophotography or not eat for the next six month lol..so where do we go next..programming chips ourselves flashing the chip memory ..well ive searched and cant find any relevant info or equipment to do this...so maybe its bread n water for six month and buy a dedicated astrovideo camera..lol

I think manufactures keep that sort of thing close to their chest, on reprogramming their chips, special software and interfaces

Hahahaha so this is the PD1 then. Cheers Ken. I found the same camera with a different name Pixim Seawolf that goes up to x1024 too but it was twice the price of this one.

Found another couple of x1024 cams here www.terahdcctv.com/box-type-camera.htmlNo idea how much they cost or how to purchase them tho I really should do some work today instead of looking for cameras lol

The problem with Bullet cameras Chris is that they have fixed lenses.
I'll have a look at those other Box cameras.

I have never heard of it done though, probably because you can buy the same camera in a Box format without a lens fitted. But if you can find one cheap enough it's certainly worth a try.

Possibly x1024 with the stated 0.00001 Lux.

www.cameras-cctv.com/cameras-c-cs-lens/VC58EP-12This cameras stands out to me as something interesting. It has x512 sense-up. But in the manual it shows: Gain Control - OFF/12dB/18dB/24dB/30dB/36dB/42dB/48dB/54dB/60dB. Most cameras i see only have low med or high AGC. Would this not allow much finer adjustments to give a better image? Also it has a sensor i haven't seen before - 1/3" Sony 960H Double Scan Super HAD CCDII
