wondering any thoughts on wedges say for the nexstar 8. ? will it give 2min times for expo for video or imaging??
tho with cam hanging off back. i guess one would need to be very very carefull as to where you point the scope..

ya know rick.. i not sure yet... i like to keep weight down.. but then i not sure what i would want on the top of it.. here is image from last nite with this setup .. i got 3mins of tracking with a very cold fingers alignement to polaris. then a eq alignment. alignment stars were not even close to centered. was too cold lol .. 15F hair wind.. brrrr lol .. but this is 60s and 90s stacked up about 16 total images. with a 300mm cam lens. funny thing .... the pivet pins for the bottom of the mount plate.. where not there.. it was on the top screws only. i forgot to put them in lol ... if someone who knows and was there and seen how i did this. they be like no way .. lol

Wow, yes with all of that I am surprised too... but I'm also a newbie and naive.
I've always been intimidated by imaging because people come across as if everything has to be spot on perfect to get even decent results.
Both of my scopes are carbon fiber: VRC8 and 80EDT. I originally thought of piggy backing them, so I went CF to keep the weight down so I did not have to buy a super heavy duty mount!

will with 300mm lens. its forgiving.. as you get to 900 or more.. it will need to be a lot lot closer.. but iam working on making a wedge for the nexstar8 mount. the one that came with the c8. then i will try the orion 80 on it. so we shall see...
i looked at a celestron cgem. its funny its good only to 77degrees.. yet with the wedge i can go right to zenith. so no idea on that one lol ..
