Hello Guys
Please could some explain how I would be able to receive the video from my outside PD1 to my dvr or my monitor indoors?
I was thinking that if I bought a 5.8ghz wireless transmitter and connected to my PD1 camera, which in turn I would have the 5.8ghz receiver connected to my monitor etc indoors. I understand that I would need power to the camera and the receiver guys, but I just don't want the rca cable length running to the outside of the house. I will of course have a properly waterproofed 12 volt feed system outdoors to be able to feed the camera and transmitter.
Below is a link to the piece of kit that I have been looking at. Please could you tell me would this kit be possibility for me?

Hello Davy
Thanks for coming back to my question.
Its to go remote view only at present. My PD1 has not got the remote control function that's been mentioned on the other forums I think. I will probably go for full remote control in the future. Will probably buy a sw auto-focuser early next year. What other kits would I need to go the full remote control thing Davy please? How would use and what do I need to use Coaxitron controller on my PD1 also please?
I am glad to hear that your new dvr is all okay now too.
Kindest regards, Hadyn - Isle of Man

If you have what I would call the pd2 (rs485) dont think you need a w5 coaxitron hand controller to access the osd menu..you can do it through your dvr rs485 to camera rs485. What im looking to do and it may give you some ideas is....skywatcher eq3/2 with a device called eqtooth (bluetooth device) that connects into where your synscan conyroller would plug in..mount now wireless controlled, only needs 12v dc hook up.. Camera to dvr ..dvr sitting on mount tray...12v dc hook up/ camera 12v dc hook up. Router to dvr...12v dc hook up Monitor at mount for intial setting up 12v dc hook up And system monitored from pc from router Sw focusser / will make a homebrew wireless gocus controller..ebay 4x4 wireless winch control.....hope thos gives an insight to how I intrnd mine to be...davy

Hello Davy
Thanks for your help return message, I must say that you have typed out a lot of text and it is very helpful.
I have the PD1, its the one with only the dc power connection and the video lead connector and the menu with the up arrow down arrow etc for the menu control on the rear of the camera Davy. I cannot see the rs485 connection, unless it is accessed from inside the camera
I bought the one that's advertised on his website for £99. Is there another model lurking about with an extra connection (rs485) on the back then Davy? I will give Phil a ring in the morning to see if he can do something for me.
On a sad note, I am reading that comet Ison is dead, but we are hoping for a resurrection over here Davy.
Thanks again for your kind help.....
Best regards, Hadyn - Isle of Man

I'm not sure as I don't have this cam, but is the rs485 accessible through the coaxial cable?

Hadyn ..you have the same camera pd1 ..no rs485 (its a small green terminal block)..im hoping that the pd1 having a decent sony sensor board will be w5 compatible for the coaxial control. .cant rember who has both w5 controller and pd1 to ask if its ok..it does work the samsung scb2000 camera.
