I've got Skyfi wireless adapter and it works ok through my home wireless network on Android. The problem I'm having is connecting it away from home on my Nexus 7 tablet as Android don't have Ad hoc enabled to see the Skyfi adapter. There's a couple of ways round this and one is to use a wireless serial adapter which I've got and I cant get it to work. the other way I know of is to use mini portable router which I have one on order, so just want to know if anyone is using this Skyfi with android and how you got it working..john

Davy it will work with a iphone or ipad straight out of the box, but with android it will not see the Ad Hoc network which the Skyfi generates.
I tried it with a serial/Bluetooth adapter and that doesn't work, bought the wrong one
So now I've just received a mini portable smart router with its own 1800mah battery inside and I've just switched it on and my Nexus 7 now see's this, so when I've charged the battery on it i'll just need to configure it and hopefully it will work

Well I've just spent 4hrs trying to get it to connect and with a headache I've managed it. So now I can use my tablet when I'm out and about or at home.
One thing I don't like about it is the setup in Sky safari, it would be nice if it could save different configurations, If I connect back to my wireless home network i'll have to start all over again to configure it, so it looks like i'll have to use this all the time.
The battery in the router is suppose to last about 3 to 4 hrs but I can charge it thru laptop or use the powertank while I'm using it which is a good thing. its 90 x 30 cm so its nice and small and I can just Velcro it inside of the battery box and leave it there.
best tidy up my room now, looks like a bomb site
