Hey All,
Anybody know or hear whether using a magnet would be harmful to say, a MallinCam?
If not, would using a magnet out of the freezer not be a cool ( ) way to keep a cam cool? Heck, you could have a bunch of them in a thermal cooler and switch them out during a session.
Thanks for feedback, and clear skies!
Bob

Bob, as far as I can remember from what I have read about effects on CCD sensors, Magnetic Fields aren't great for sensors or the electronics, and a magnetic field can also introduce 'noise' in images.
If you want to see the effect a magnetic field has on sensors and electronics, move a magnet near the screen of your TV, then move it around. Look at what it does to the TV picture!
Magnets give off an Electromagnetic field. They are great are scrambling data signals.

Bob, it might interfere with the electronic circuitry, like when you put a speaker close to a Tv screen but I could be wrong
we're both thinking along the same lines ken
you could try and fit some of those ice packs round it, some dslr users put their camera's in ice boxes
