Davy, I notice the Stellarmate has the usb2 ports based on the Raspberry Pi 3 . Is there an upgrade coming based on the Raspberry Pi 4 ? The ASIair Pro is a Raspberry Pi 4 and the ASIair is the less powerful 3. cheers Paul

Hi Paul,, I could not find any news on that,,I did wonder myself. My guess is there will be,, the zwo asiair and atik used the same software and done some embellishment to it,, zwo to use there cameras ect,, The stellarmate,,has a more comprehensive side that in my opinion is more useful to us. Different cameras can be used for one. The software is more hands on than the zwo,, zwo is more plug and play,, where stellarmate needs more setting up,, I don't look at this as a bad thing because it allows us more freedom to set it up the way we want. Stellarmate has been out a while now,, but when you look at the video stats on utube,, not a lot of thumbs up,, to me this indicates not a lot of folk aware of it. I have tried to send the company an email but was getting kicked out ,, will try again tomorrow and see if we can get some more information .. I have read you could make one of these cheaply if you are a bit techy,, they sell the operating system on there website . Overall I think it in its form just now appeals to me more than the asiair,, without any real disclosure on the pro version of asiair features or pre sales demo videos,, I would still say stellarmate with it's software is a better option for me,, if a upgraded one on comparison to the asiair specs is in the pipeline then it would be some bit of kit.

Davy, when my ASIair arrived,my daughter produced a Raspberry Pi 3 which she put together for about $80. She programs it to run a little robotic model car. For astronomy we certainly need the software from ZWO or Stellarmate. I dont know anything about Stellarmate, but ASIair program is very user friendly. cheers Paul
