As I've mentioned before, my primary interest is in live viewing, although it would be nice to be able to capture images just to play with. I'm trying to decide between the Revolution Imager 2 and the ZWOasi224 cameras.
How would you advise me?

I have neither camera,, but my advice is go for the zwo camera, The zwo cameras are sold by the lorry load and very good chance someone will have same or close to your set up,, zwo asicap software is very easy to use to give you a start, you can then move up to sharocap software,, there will be more support for the zwo cameras. No way am I knocking the revolution kit but being new to the scene zwo pips it to the post

G'day Shannon, I have both of those cameras (several of each). I have all three versions of the Revolution Analogue cameras and two different 224's (one Touptek 224, one RisingCam 224) and they both have advantages and disadvantages, but if I was going to start from scratch again as a newbie I would choose the 224. Now, when you say 'Revolution Imager 2' camera I am guessing the Analogue Revolution, not the 224 version. In case you didn't know Revolution also sells a 224 camera kit. I'm surprised at how many people still don't know that Revolution 224: CLICK HERE

That Revolution 224 package is a heckuva deal with the focal reducer and IR filter included. I'll look more closely at that! Thanks!

Cheaper too, even with all the added accessories Another advantage of getting the Revolution version is that you can use RisingSky software with it. Also called ToupSky. Very good easy capture software written by the actual manufacturer of the camera. And another advantage of the Revolution version 224 (or the RisingCam or Touptek versions [by the way, they are all made by Touptek] ) is the narrow body making them able to be used with a Negative adapter to reach focus in a Reflector when using a Focal Reducer So there's a few little tips for you
