Sitting around the house tonight and all of a sudden my whole house shook and the windows rattled!!! In a BIG way! From a massive explosion I MEAN HUGE!!!My first thought was my next door neighbour playing with his dynamite again (we are in a farming community). But I checked and all was quiet on his property, then within 5 minutes sirens started howling around town heading south of me. I jumped onto the Incidents website and discovered that there was a house fire at a house in my street and where it was is only one property. Friends of ours! My son and I jumped in his car and shot up there to find that their house blew up (or had been blown up). There where about 10 fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. And things were still blowing up (I think gas bottles). Fortunately their daughter asked if we had seen their dog. I asked her if her parents and sisters are OK, and she said they were all out for dinner when they got a call telling them their house was on fire. Phew! they are all safe. But the strange thing that Forensic people will need to work out is how did it blow up! It was big enough an explosion to be a bomb. Their house is 2 miles from my house and the explosion felt like it was next door!

Thank goodness all ok. Including SES firies cos of the explosions still ongoing. Strange the first thing to hear was the explosion as fire usually sounds like fireworks popping/crackling first before gas bottles then go up with the heat.
