Will make the rocket men at NASA a bit nervous as it looks like the Falcon Heavy rocket is cheaper. Live views of 'Starman' here, and the launch: - www.spacex.com/webcastMain rocket did not land on the platform due to not enough fuel to fire the rocket motors to land it. The shrapnel from the impact at approx 500 km/h did some damage to the landing pad. Still a brilliant achievement.

NASA provided research money to SpaceX and Orbital ATK to develop a commercial capability.
