Been looking at adding a filter set up to my set up, bought a book on filters a while back and sat about doing nothing for a long time,, seems the nirm just now due to weather conditions around the world ,, worth a thread lol.
Back to filters, given light pollution and weather I fell I need to start using filters to at least give me half a chance in progressing my astronomy but can say this was probably how I moved from astrophotography to video ,, weather conditions making every photon count as my old gaffer Steve Richards would say.
Been looking at the best way forward
Do I just get a filter at a time and build up a collection,, as usual I'm in no hurry as I started astronomy as a retirement hobby,, so I'm a good few years ahead of schedule.
Or
Do I buy decent gear
Options I've looked at are clip filters for DSLR,, few quid in the ones I'm looking at hydrogen alpha 12nm, oxygen ,ect
Soon mounts up
Or a filter wheel, I have best of both worlds can use any camera, DSLR or video

I like the look of this one,, USB controlled and at a reasonable price if there is such a thing.
I'm leaning more towards narrowband video and imaging,, going to have to do it slow as usual you need to sell a kidney to fund the type of astronomy we would like to do..
See how skint chrimbo leaves me and maybe go for the filter wheel..
I really need an observatory for all my kit aaaargh
