Carol says the reg looks like it says mad,,, suits me she said,, forgets I'm a changed man,,, no wanting to kill anybody in the last couple oh hours.

My current car is quite a fancy bit of 'cool car' here in Oz, but to the Americans it's just a cheap piece of rubbish LOL! It's a Dodge Avenger. We haven't had it long. About 6 months. Vroooooom Vroooooooooooooooom Here it is the day we bought it:

I've driven the Seat Altea, quick for a diesel, I bought a Nissan Note instead and ended up regretting the purchase. Now gone back to a Subaru as the Nissan was supposed to last me until retirement, no chance as it is based on a Renault Modus. I got all the usual French car hassle, locks/central locking and lights that didn't switch off when you took the key out. Now on my fourth Subaru and they have been 100% reliable. Enjoy your new motor Davy.

Love Diesels davy. Good poke and get 5 l/100km all day every day. The link below is how you really make that Altea move! Superchip UK Bluefin tuning device is available for your 1.9 TDI Altea. Did my 2006 TDI2.0 VW Golf years ago using their Bluefin tuning hand control. It reads the cars ECU map from the comm port in the car, then you plug it into your pc to both send and then receive the modded ECU map from Superchip Uk. Then plug back into your cars comm port and Bobs your Uncle! The torque increase is what does it with the Diesel beastie's, not the HP! The '06 TDI Golf went from 0-100km/hr 9.2 seconds (on a GTec meter installed into the car), to 6.8 Seconds. At the time (2006) that was the same time as a 2006 Mk V GTI! It smartens acceleration everywhere, but mainly in the 2,000 to 3,500 rpm overtaking area. It absolutely stonks in that range. Gearbox and drivetrain can suffer from "overwork" (said the forums) but so far mine has gone 155,000 km with the remap and nothing has broken. And I don't mess around - the boys in blue got me just last weekend 25km/hr over the limit. What can I say ... I like my cars fast. Had Nissan GTR Skylines, crazily modded Gen III V8 Holdens returning 22 litres / 100km due to all the mods! That thing sounded like a Super Stock gaser at the dragstrip! Lumpy cam, 3000 rpm stally! Ah ... those were the days before I lost my licence and the local constabulary used to spot me and my car and just U turn immediately jumping over dividing strips in the road to simply sit on my tail and watch every move I made. I was bad though. Stupid in fact, when I think of the abuse on public roads and stuff. But at the time it was great fun. Retirement and old age brought me to the TDI 2.0 Golf ... but chipped! LOL Superchip Bluefin for your ALtea below ... www.mybluefin.co.uk/search?make=32&fueltype=2&model=136&variant=378

Cheers for the information Howie, Gordon the other mechanic I work with has same car but 2 yes older, has a friend who does it for same price, carbon clean, egr delete and remap,,,, maybe some thing for later,, I've went from the 1.8 ltr 20 valve turbo engine that gives me around 20 mpg to this at about 60+ mpg ,, I was putting in about Β£35 a week in fuel just for basic commuting to work and one night at band practice,, I topped up tank last night and just over half a tank and the on board computer has said it will give 350 miles to refuelling, wow π, I'm happy,, have also halfed the road tax to Β£150 a year,, so going to be a lot of savings.
Set away for new head unit,, this will give me Bluetooth hands free, sat nav, dvd, on a 9" screen,, it can give you reverse camera and by adding a usb camera,,a dash cam with DVR feature, you can add a Bluetooth eobd reader and it can link to the headset as well,, It is android 7.1 and I'm shure it will allow me to download CAMFI app, this would mean I can link it to my DSLR out side the car and take astro photos from inside the car,, I believe I may be able to connect a analogue camera to the av in and do live view as well,, possibly add in a CCTV DVR π.
Ordered a twin usb/12v socket to fit in rear to power the telescope mounts π..so a few mods and I'm looking good. Will keep the az gti mount in car and at least a analogue camera to play about with π

Got the usual telling off....... Now if you meant Stevie Wright I would know what you are talking about. But poor old Stevie, the singer, came to a bad end. The guitar players Vanda & Young went on to be big-time producers in Oz and made the likes of AC/DC etc.

So update on the car Waiting on kit But I like the new car ,, tortoise and hare kind of stuff. The power of the Leon cupra is missed but the refinements of the seat altea make up for it,, Like,, suspension lol,, smooth ride now Diesel power and mpg ,,nice The stereo should really make the difference when it comes,, don't get me wrong ,,I'm crapping myself that it doesn't show or it's total crap,, But if does come and it all works as it should then,, I'm going to be very happy chappy The az gti kit is going to rock, the app to control the mount can be installed into the head unit and it's a case of building up the portable kit leave it outside the car and operate it from the comfort and heat of the car,, now add a modded canon 450d and the CAMFI wireless control that will be added to the head unit and bang it's a mobile wireless observatory ....... But hey that's all too easy Let's take it up a notch from a fast set up portable kit to a full blown kick in the nuts job.
So I am adding two 12v power sockets to the rear and two usb power points Put the eq3 pro out the back of the car, power the mount from one of the 12 sockets and rig a scope up with the zwo 178 and my runPanasonic tough book use sharpcap pro and eqmod/CDC , now we're talking. Now that's nice but can go heavier and do the heq5 pro and twin scopes from rear,,,
Did I mention I'm fitting iny CCTV DVR into the rear for a portableβ analogue set up as well,,,, π As usual my ideas are kinda π different
