Interesting Ken - so its all about making proper light fittings, whatever the lights. Also I suppose LED lights are always pretty directional. In fact, that's the hard thing about home LED downlights, finding some that have as wide a spread as halogens. I went through our whole house and replaced everything with LEDs.
Onto the topic of this thread ... Okay I know Australia is through to the World Cup Finals if we beat Japan tonight and I'll be watching. But if there's any chance I can broadcast, I will. CloudFreeNights says there's a chance I'll have clear skies. If I do, excuse the ramblings of a football (soccer) tragic.
I'm hopefully going to start 8pm, but I'll post here to confirm whether I'm actually broadcasting, and at what time.

Yes Chris, by sheilding any light will darken the sky. By a lot! But councils are changing to LED and fortunately LED designs are shielded anyway. Bonus! LED is the future of street lighting because of its energy savings (councils end up with less power bills). I'll look in tonight during the Broncos Vs Cowboys match and see if you are broadcasting

Its a conspiracy. Cloudfreenight says blue skies, but sharpcap says Hadar, my first alignment star, is under that lot somewhere. I'll have another look at 10pm

Yes. Let's talk about lights instead of my failed attempt to beat the clouds and Australia losing to Japan in the world cup qualifier. I'm giving up till the next new moon.
