Yes. With the Brian Cox series in Australia, the ABC is having Stargazing live. You can upload images or videos of your own stargazing. Here www.abc.net.au/news/2017-03-13/abc-open-stargazing-live/8339066Sorry here open.abc.net.au/create/new?project_id=152The stuff people have put up so far is mostly images, full on astrophotography and nightscapes. There's far fewer videos and they are all time lapse night-caps Maybe its worthwhile putting up a video of some video astronomy - might see if I can get something together (through the clouds). - or even better - something like Howie's sequence of 30s singles shots ?

Didn't see davy's orig post (sorry davy) ... yes very interesting Chris. I shall edit one of my videos to highlight the click shutter, wait 30 secs, see image ... because I dont see anyone looking through hundreds or maybe thousand photo's and videos giving it much attention if it doesnt 'grab' them almost immediately. Still have crazy day left on doing up the backyard tomorrow, but Friday might be reasonably free to do the edit and post it up. Ta for the links.

I'd love to make and contribute a video of Video Astronomy from down here but I don't know when I will get clear sky long enough to get much done. The sky hasn't been great lately

OK Davy P.S. It's the 'Northern Territory'. Not 'territories' plural. It's one of our States that isn't a State We have 2 of them. The Northern Territory at 1,420,970 km² is 6 times the size of the whole UK at 243,610 km², but only has a population equal to a small UK town (244,000) No light pollution in 99.9% of the NT 'Northern Territory' en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Territory

Boy o Boy, that has got to be the least Aussie sentence about Australia I have ever read We don't have a 'seaside'. We have a 'beach' and what's a 'gaff'?

They don't have beaches over there. That's why they call it the seaside. Gaff? Maybe he meant gaffa tape?

Amazing the differences between the UK and Oz. Almost every night the Missus and I watch 'Escape to the Country', 'Phil Spencer secret agent Downunder', and 'Location, Location, Location' and I am amazed (and quite annoyed) at the amount of times Brits refuse to live in a single story house, especially in Australia. Brits move to Oz and Phil shows them house after beautiful house and they complain that there is no way they could sleep on the ground floor because it's stupid or is plain wrong What the Brits moving here don't realise is that 99% of houses in Oz are single story!
And if a house in Oz (no matter how big) is a single story house (which they usually are) the Brits call it a 'Bungalow', not a 'house'. Here in Oz a bungalow refers to a ratty out-building your teenagers live in, in the back yard It's quite an insult to call our beautiful Home a 'Bungalow' It is like if we went to the UK, looked at someone's pride and joy home and said, "wow, what an ugly shack". It would give the same feeling. Things are so different in different parts of the world.

Bungalow's rule whatever that Down Under lot say! A bungalow is a house that didn't make it to 2 floors. Apparently the builders got sick of building it so they BUNGED A LOW roof on it!

A Bungalow is a teenagers sleepout here in Oz, no matter what it means up there BUT! My single story house is actually technically called a "California Bungalow' which is the style of that period (1910 to 1939). To me it's a 'House' I'm always puzzled why most Brits insist on 2 story living, especially when they get too old to climb the stairs all the time. Single level living is so easy. But Aussie Houses are different in many ways. Open Plan is big here, even though I don't particularly like it myself. Even the room names are different. UK OzReception Room, Sitting Room . . . . . . . . Lounge Room Utility Room . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Laundry Conservatory . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Sunroom Toilet, Privy, Loo . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Dunny

Just watched the first episode of this year's programme and I'm disappointed, far too much flaffin around,, it was more a show and tell tourism episode,, Hardly and decent images from experts,,, sorry but I've had more captivating times watching ken and other Australian broadcasters on utube than this tonight. Don't get me wrong it wasn't all bad, but to go to the other side of the world,, for clear skies was bad,,by the end of the episode you could see the bushes swaying around due to the effects of the storm..
No wonder we need our own astronomy broadcasting site,, Folk in UK were already voicing there dissatisfaction at the programme getting done outside the UK,, given tonight's episode they may have a point
