Well I came up against the dreaded dew last night and it kicked my backside so time to make dew heater system,,many ways to do it and I'm not going to make it complicated for myself by making the gold standard it's the old keep it simple and functional routine.
So I bought the same rgb control panel as in the video link
eBay ,, under £6 but it's the slow boat from china
10 metres of nichrome cable 22 gauge. I'm hopping it's the right gauge 😂
Velcro roll All for under £16 Will have some more expenses but I think about £25 to build a three strap model

Cool little unit! I bought six of those single PWM boxes on ebay and was hoping to fit 3 of them into a small project box, but this idea looks far better. Good find Davy

Ordered up the male and female RCA connectors, had thought about looking for different options but to be honest these are pretty good, couple of options on how to attach the heat bands,to the controller, whether to have short cable on the band's and use extension cables or use made to measure cables. Waiting game now till I get the controller, few changes I will make. Will take the cable internally into the connector blocks so no cables are visible. Blade fuse holder will be fitted to casing. Probably put red led on each out put so I know it's on and as it's a dimmer unit it vary the intensity as a visual guide.

Howie, I notice that those little heater pads heat up to 45 degrees!!!!! OUCH!
Telescope heaters need only raise the temp about 2 degrees above ambient to beat dew.
When I make my heater straps I cut them to length to reach around 30 degrees.

Yep, I bought a stack of those about a year ago Davy. I paid $5 each for them if I remember correctly. The internals are pretty small so it's easy to fit 3 or 4 of them into another small box. That is my plan.

That's the last bit for dew heater ordered,, I had wondered what I would use for the dew heater band, ive seen gaffa tape ect and thought it needs to be something a bit better for heat retention and not to look a bit bodged up.. no offence to any bodger's lol. Ok ,,what did I find Boy racer exhaust bandage .. I got 50mm wide by 10mtr for £10,, I got blue ,,it was the cheapest,,red was £4 dearer,,rip off lol. This will be perfect I think, holds heat from an exhaust no problem ,, encase the nichrome wire between two layers then fix the velcro to it,,
