I'm a new member from San Diego, CA. Been into astronomy since I was a kid, but haven't been into video/photo astronomy very long. I picked up a Celestron Evolution 8" scope in July (after breaking the previous 8" I had for 20 years) and Revolution R2 imager. Really enjoying the scope and I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the settings for the R2. I haven't captured any images yet. I use the imager primarily as a way to show my family the things I've been looking at without them having to crowd around the scope and take turns at the eyepiece.
Anyhow, I came across the forum by watching a video astronomy video on YouTube by Ken James. So, Ken, if you're reading this, thanks for telling me about the forum.
Hey Hey, Marty, good to see you in here. Glad I was able to help you via You Tube.
Feel at home and ask whatever you want. Hopefully one of us might know the answers

Hey Marty, welcome to the site. I'm just up the road from you in Escondido. I occasionally make it to the San Diego Astronomy Association star parties. We usually do one per month, typically the one in West Sycamore Canyon which is located near Scripps Ranch.
