www.stirlingastronomicalsociety.org.uk/telescope.htmlStirling astronomical society had an open day, well evening to be honest,so a trip over with uncle John, parking spaces are few and far on a Saturday night in Stirling, but we found one and made our way in,the observatory is on the roof of a hotel, old and grand, steeped in history, hotel staff were very pleasant and guided us to a room where we were created by members of the S.A.S and we sat and watched a very good presentation. Our turn to go and see the scope,,lol,, we hung back till as late as possible to get as dark skies as possible,, getting to the observatory definitely not possible for folk with wheelchairs, the stairs are like going up a lighthouse ,tight spiral staircase.. the observatory restoration is a credit to the folk who done it and to its guardians. Yip beat by weather again but well worth the visit.
