Ended up on hospital, heating a metal brake caliper slide, the heat created a hydraulic pressure and of course it blew out with a massive amount of force, the metal piece came out like a bullet and hit me on left arm, rushed to a&e ,pain killers as I was in total agony, got xray,2" by 3/8 piece of metal rod travelled up my arm,,got surgery but I have permanent nerve damage, cant feel my thumb or surrounding area on hand,,kust missed the motor function nerve so I won a watch as they say,,getting released shortly. And its as sore as it looks lol :-)

Best wishes for speedy recovery Davy. And hoping by some act of God / good providence that the nerve to your thumb does recover.
Cheers

Let your body catch up to the shock it has received Davy. It would be suffering similar to an infection. Lots of people suffer shock without even knowing it. It can really knock you around. Just rest up and take small walks around the house.

Still working away at my recovery,,big bandages are off now and down to a big padded band aid an a hand splint, got good news from hospital last week wound healing faster than expected and physio says im doing better than expected,,exercising constantly to try and get it all working, still got stiff fingers but looking promising,,nerve damage wont repair, tingling sensation constantly and getting electric shock type pain as well..still been very lucky in my view.

the only good thing about donner kebabs is the gallons of grease that drips off the roasting spit,it can be converted to bio fuel. a shish kebab might be a less dangerous option.i assume the food industry would like zero offal waste,it eats into their profits to dispose of the stuff. john.
