Depending on the target, having the "hot mirror" in place isn't such a bad thing.

Dual saddle arrived today, need an allen key to build it,get one tomorrow, moon out tonight and in a good position, but absolutely knackered, went out with alloa and bowmar pipe band today and played in one of the longest marches ive done at grangemouth gala day,,my feet are covered in blisters and caught a fair bit of sun today Yes im off step in this one,got to the worst bass drum ive played, the bass harness was a disaster, look how its sitting on my shoulders, then look at side drummers, ended up playing one handed with other holding bass drum down.

Tech side, lol. To make things more complicated. Starting the tune we get the command ... band ready,,,,then by the right quick march..and you would move off woth your left foot first and you would hit the right side of the drum..this is called keeping in step to the beat of the bass drum, this dictates the tempo of the tune..the command..by the right can be confusing to new members, they try and march off on the right foot first, the command actually means that all commands come from the right of the band,,from the pipe major,,if you have a drum major on parade he controls the band,,, from the front and center,,and command,,would be be by the centre....lesson for today lol..I was off step because the drum harness was creeping up and wanting to fall off..not a good idea....yip we got the sun all right yesterday ken when I had finished the march I was soaking in sweat,,had to walk the route in reverse to get back to car,my feet are all blistered ,carols mobility scooter ran out of battery on way back to car as well, the joys..have it all to next sunday again...highland games this time

Thanks rick,it's was always going to be a long process and a longer thread,,but that was my intention,,I started back in 2011 and spent a lot of time on the forums collecting information and styles of astronomy and had my heart set on astrophotography until I found out how cruel the weather and mother nature can be,,,buy a new telescope and it's weeks before you get first light with it..lol..we all have been there...then I found video astronomy and I thought this is better than standing around in the dark and freezing cold waiting on an image on my canon 400d...well 5 years on and the kit progressed slowly at times,,because I and many others get the..why am I spending good money on astro gear and hardly get to use it...but over the last year in my view it's been the best phase in video astronomy,,,with the introduction of new and better cameras and software..granted it may not suit all,,,but im not going down like the dinosaurs,,im always going to do it my way...my goal is bridging both astrophotography and video astronomy,,and my upgrade will allow me to do this... a good solid mount,, a good ed80 widefield kit, rigged to a canon dslr that can capture stacked images as video or do astrophotography via backyard eos...then I have my st102,,I can use my second canon and backyard eos or one of my Samsung's or even my qhy5lii colour,,,I can use it on my orion mini finder/guider and of course guide with it,,lots of options, I think another 200mm Newtonian scope will be added at a later stage but..im getting there...its a long haul if your on a budget,,but plan well and it's a reachable goal..I think it's worth it :-)
