It's 1000 images made into Video but saved as an image and you want to post it in here? ....6000 images internally stacked via software to create a near live image..or something lol Planetary Mode In Planetary Mode, BackyardEOS has the ability to capture short movies with your digital canon DSLR using its Live View capabilities (this feature is only available on those EOS digital models having Live View), directly to your computer. The Planetary Model allows you to set the following parameters: Shutter (Bulb, 2.5 seconds to 1/8000)* ISO (100-3200)* Aperture (f2.8 to f22)* White Balance Target Name Image Count (The total number of Live View images to be captured.) For planets, use the in-camera 5x zoom feature to enhance viewing. Place the zoom rectangle where your object is and click to zoom and lock on its position. * Settings are dependent on the existing capabilities of your EOS digital camera. mine goes to 6400 iso

Was out till half ten,,baltic weather,, camera batteries went flat so packed up.will skip going out tonight and have a look and see if its interesting,it takes a bit if time transferring from camera to memory or it may just be the stacking in byeos, takes some amount of memory, lol.

Great shot of the moon, Davy!
In my thoughts of using the BYOS software, I was thinking that since I already have a WebCamMax license, that I could potentially use LiveView and just capture that - at least for brighter objects. Have not yet had a chance to give it a go.

Rick...It's a weird thing byeos,in planetary mode it makes a video,,no disputing that,I can sit and watch it and looks great, you go into the capture file and pick on of the thousand images that make up the video,,so your really doing a cross over between astrophotography and video,,im very happy with the concept,as I like doing both..next big test i would like to try is a longer exposure and higher iso on a deep sky object,in planetary mode,,it's just far too light till after 11pm.observatory req soon lol.

I have only had about 3 chances to get it going and I have not yet had success with my settings. Inside, no-problemo. I am hoping to get my DLSR settings worked through with my new bit-o-kit that leverages my DLSR. I am hoping to have some near-live w/ limited stacking applications (not sure if I'll be able to do true video yet!) I can't believe I'm saying this, but I need some of your Scotland skies!!

Spent a couple of nights trawling through the capture data from Saturday and monday,32gb on sat so pretty goggle eyed,,,REALLY pleased the captures on Saturday went great ,monday night the seeing not so good so binned it,,takes up far too much memory ,no room for sentient or useless data.so weather wise its raining again in brigadoon so its, testing time again, will be running tests with astrotoaster to try and sus it out,,then the new sharpcap and seeif I can perfect it.then hopefully skies will clear and I can get on again..chasing time this year..once good weather kicks in its demolr avairy and start prepping ground for concrete base to observitory,,, :-)

ken- have you got your roll on roll off well anchored down, earthquake .com has noted shallow/deep tremors near that big red rock up north of you, people in melbourne have tweeted in saying they have felt it, john

LOL!!! Thanks John, but we'll be OK down here. Uluru is 2,264 kilometres from me (1,407 miles) and the quake was even further away than that, being another 125 kilometres west of Uluru. and the observatory is concreted down to the ground so well that even if we had an earthquake right here it wouldn't budge it No-one lives anywhere near where the quake was. The closest people are the Aboriginal Communities over 100 kilometres away (over 60 miles). It's all uninhabited desert out there. Most of Oz is uninhabited. People in Melbourne are dreaming! There's no way they would have felt it That would be like People in London feeling an earthquake in Turkey (same distance). I was still awake watching TV when it hit and there was nothing here, and I am about 150 k closer to it than Melbournites are Official reports say that it could be felt up to 500k (300 miles). But thanks for thinking of my Observatory

Set up the scope, back to a summer's day here in brigadoon, new cable arrived ,,,not another I keep hearing from carol. What I found out using the usb to mount cable from hitecastro is it wont work if you attached a usb repeater cable, will not find com port in eqmod,,,cable I got was a cheap 10mtr rj45 male/female extension cable,,and pleased to say it works a treat.

this is the cartes de ciel software started up on laptop this is the hitecastro heq5 usb eqmod interface cable,,sourced from first light optics uk so this is the heq5 mount head, the synscan handset has been removed and in its place is a 10mtr rj45 male to female extension cable.there is no set up done with the handset what so ever. extension cable now attatched to the hitecastro interface cable and gets plugged into a usb port on your computer this is the cdc software,it has had the telescope control panel activated on the laptop, you can see it hasnt connected to the scope yet. clicked connect and now it has connected to eqmod scope in parked position moved scope via the eqmod control panel and scope has moved
i then clicked on a galaxy on cartes de ceil and you can see it is in tracking mode via the cdc and eqmod software
