Yep John, saw the announcement for this new camera in Cloudy Nights.
Be interesting if it's usable for Video Astronomy.

What I was going to post was that it looks like ZWO is moving forward with the Micro 4/3 technology. Specifically the "Live MOS" chips. These are different than CMOS and are called NMOS because they have a different architecture. They are faster than CMOS and are cheaper to produce. The problem has been that they are noiser because the N part requires current to continually be running thru the chips. My understanding is that while the current part is still the case, the have been able to embed the pixels such that noise is significantly reduced making these chips now viable for video astronomy due to their enhanced low-light sensitivity.
I also think that Sony is jumping into the Micro 4/3 game as well. Not surprising.
ZWO could be staged to take a big jump here... I'm anxious to see these chips in action. Sensitivity + Speed + Lower Cost = Win Win Win!
