Si, you have made a simple error that is very easy to fix. Don't use 'Lens' in 'Auto' Set it to 'Manual'. In the 'Manual' Sub-Menu select 'Brightness' at 2, and 'Level' at 2. Also set AGC to Hi. Set the sensup to x512, then allow the camera to settle for 2 or 3 minutes while it is doing its integration. The system this camera uses means the image has to build up. It doesn't instantly appear like higher range cameras. The image builds up more each integration and you should be able to watch it grow into an image on your screen. But give it time. If the image looks washed out, that will be probably be due to light pollution. Drop it back to x256 and try again. To keep hope inside you, have a look at the results available from the SCB-2000 (also known as the SDC-435) astrovideography.blog.com/Also, are you using a Focal Reducer? It will help. Some other settings that may help: ssnr3 to 32, Sharpness to 20, White Balance - red=420 Blue =520. To set White balance manually you have to first select 'ATW'. Once ATW is set then change the selection to 'Manual' and adjust Red and Blue (yeah, it's a stupid way they have set it up, but it works). Good luck. Let us know how you go

Si, also try fiddle with some of the settings. You will find that different objects will need settings to be changed.
Some objects may look better with AGC low, Sensup dropped back to x128, a change in White Balance, all sorts of variations. But keep using Manual for the Lens. The Auto setting in Lens is if you connect an electronically focussing lens directly onto the camera like they do in Security situations.
